Gustavo Forselledo was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and is currently living in Arlington, Virginia. Before coming to the United States he resided in Uruguay, Honduras and Brazil.

He is a psychologist by profession, but always loved to draw and paint, and received encouragement from friends and family to pursue a second career as an artist.

After more than 25 years of work as a mental health professional and program coordinator for international organizations, Forselledo retired and dedicated himself to the visual arts. His paintings are inspired by Latin American expressionism and universal constructivism in the style of Uruguayan masters Carlos Paez Vilaró and Joaquín Torres García.

Since his arrival in the United States in 2011, Forselledo has had nine solo exhibits and three collective exhibits in Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia, plus a solo exhibit at the Hall of Arts of the Uruguayan Embassy in Washington DC.

Some of his paintings are displayed in personal collections in Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Germany, Panama, Honduras, Uruguay and the United States.
